Visit the Wonderful Cavan Burren
A Fine Relict Landscape
Experience the fascinating natural underworld of rivers, waterfalls, winding passages and lofty chambers while stunningly beautiful cave formations glisten all around.
There is a short walk down through the Marble Arch National Nature Reserve; a relaxing 10 minute underground boat journey; and a pleasant stroll of approximately 1.5km through the showcave.
The Cavan Burren Park is a mythical, spiritual landscape of monuments, megalithic tombs, hut sites and pre-bog walls all of which survive from pre-historic times and are located within metres of each other and combine to make Cavan Burren Park one of the finest integrated prehistoric landscapes in Ireland.
The Park offers stunning views of Cuilcagh Mountain, West Cavan and the greater Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark. A new visitor centre interpreting the archaeological, geological and cultural history of Cavan Burren Park opened in May 2014. Enjoy one of the five walking trails and see the superb examples of megalithic tombs including wedge and portal tombs, dating from the Neolithic Period.
